Everyone is a gangster until a real gangster walks into the room. Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA, is the realest Gangster you’ll ever meet. He made his first impression on all of us when he bodied Donald Sterling, the undercover leader of the KKK, and owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Adam Silver has done it again with his statement on Charles Oakley. Now, to the naked eye, this seems like a simple attempt to repair a broken relationship between a Knick legend and the franchise.

My friends, don’t be so naive.

Adam Silver probably rolled up on James Dolan’s crib and threatened the hell out of him. I can see it. Adam rolling in with his boy Michael Jordan who he calls “M” for short, Charles Oakley covered in green body paint to represent the Incredible Hulk, and Metta World Peace just for man power and giggles. Silver made sure to let Dolan know his options, or lack there of. In other words, Adam Silver laid the smack down on James Dolan’s candy ass.

He would then go on to make this statement:

“NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement today regarding the situation involving Charles Oakley and Madison Square Garden:

“It is beyond disheartening to see situations involving members of the NBA family like the one that occurred at Madison Square Garden this past week.  In an effort to find a path forward, New York Knicks owner Jim Dolan, Charles Oakley, and I met today at the league office, along with Michael Jordan, who participated by phone.

“Both Mr. Oakley and Mr. Dolan were apologetic about the incident and subsequent comments, and their negative impact on the Knicks organization and the NBA.  Mr. Dolan expressed his hope that Mr. Oakley would return to MSG as his guest in the near future.

“I appreciate the efforts of Mr. Dolan, Mr. Oakley and Mr. Jordan to work towards a resolution of this matter.” (NBA.com)”

The TNT crew also weighed in on the situation.
