The Atlanta Hawks visited the Portland Trail Blazers for a national television game on TNT Monday night. It was a phenomenal game which stayed closed up until the very end. However, no matter how close Portland came to pulling away with a win, the curse of Martin continued to plague the Trail Blazers throughout the night. In case you are unfamiliar with the curse of Martin, I wrote an extensive article about how and when it started here.

Ever since he purchased that Lillard jersey, the curse has been so bad that Terry Stotts chose C.J. McCollum over him to take the last shot. McCollum missed the shot, which allowed Paul Milsap to send the game into overtime.

The Atlanta Hawks would go on to win the game and validate the true existence of the Martin Curse that has bestowed upon the city of Portland and its basketball team. Luckily, his curse did not prevent fun and flashy plays from happening throughout the night, including this slam dunk by the emerging Tim Hardaway Jr.:

The question now becomes, how can we get @MP_Persources  to get rid of his Lillard jersey, which would ultimately rid the once proud city of Portland of the Martin Curse?

By the way, I know many people won’t think much of coach Stotts choosing to end the fourth quarter with C.J over Dame, but I’d say there is a lot to look into there. Granted, C.J had scored 11 in the fourth quarter with his Isaiah Thomas like performance; But Damian Lillard had notoriously been known for his clutch performances in the past. There seems to be a shift in power and respect to the emerging shooting guard which has lead many fans to question the status of Damian Lillard in Portland going forward. I used to think it wasn’t worth looking into; Starting to wonder if it is.
