Oklahoma City Thunder forward, Kevin Durant, was awarded the KIA NBA MVP award as the League’s Most Valuable Player after a campaign where he averaged 32.0 PTS, 7.4 REB, 5.5 AST, on over .500% shooting. When he was award the award, he went on to claim that a woman by the name of Wanda Durant, not he, was the real MVP. Here is a footage of this claim by Durant:
Ever since that night in the summer of 2014, I had to get to the bottom of this claim by Durant. Was this the first of many lies Durant would tell? To begin to understand this madness, I had to research the definition of the term : “NBA MVP”
“The National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player (MVP) is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given since the 1955–56 NBA season to the best performing player of the regular season. The winner receives the Maurice Podoloff Trophy, which is named in honor of the first NBA commissioner (then president)[a] of the NBA who served from 1946 until his retirement in 1963.”
After understand the definition of the award, I went on to investigate what Wanda averaged that season. She averaged 0.00 points, 0.00 assists, and 0.00 rebounds in the NBA that season, and lead her team to 0 wins unlike her son, who led the Thunder to 59 wins. I also went on to investigate if any of the basketball writers of America had voted for Wanda, and there literally wasn’t a single vote in favor of the person who Durant claimed to be the real MVP.
In conclusion, after almost three years of investigation, it has been found that the gentleman known as Kevin, not Wanda, is the real MVP. I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised that a person of such big lie would lie to Westbrook and leave OKC huh? We should have known what kind of man Durant is. It’s a shame my investigation took so long, we could have known better.
