Nate Diaz vs. Tyron Woodley Rumors

Diaz Vs. Woodley?

Nate Diaz vs Tyron Woodley

Everyone has been awaiting the announcement of Nate Diaz’s next fight, since the last one over a full year ago against McGregor. Rumors surface here and there, of course everyone wants him to fight Conor for a third time, but unfortunately that’s not happening right now. I’ve been on pins and needles for the last couple months just waiting for something to come out regarding Nate. I would really appreciate some news to come soon too, because walking around with that feeling everyday is getting old. So, I’m praying that the latest rumors about Nate getting a title shot against Tyron Woodley in the welterweight division are the real deal.

As Nate has stated many times, he will only comes back for big fights, and Woodley has been asking for a big fight forever. This would solve both of those problems. The third factor is the UFC wanting to make it happen. I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t want to set it up when there’s not much going on in the welterweight division right now. It will obviously make money. Of course, going by the rankings, it wouldn’t make much sense which angers people at times. I understand uproar about rankings, but at the same time, I understand Dana White’s point of view of “I don’t care, this is what people want to see, and it will make more money.”

Now, about the fight. I think it would be a great fight. Woodley faced off against Wonderboy (twice) and Maia in his last three bouts. Those are fighters who look to counter and wait on him to throw. Nate Diaz, on the other hand, will come right at you.

Woodley says he’s the most explosive fighter with the biggest punch in the UFC. Nate will test that. The fight is a good match-up from either fighter’s point of view, if you ask me. Woodley knows Diaz isn’t the fastest, most athletic or explosive fighter. Diaz knows that, if he can push the pace and drag Woodley into the later rounds, he could wear him out. That makes it really difficult to make a pick in a fight like this. Even though it’s a little pre-mature to pick a winner (considering the fight hasn’t even been booked yet) I’m picking my man Nathan Diaz (shocker, I know). I always like his ability to avoid big shots, wear dudes down, and drag them into deep waters. That’s where he lives, and they die.

Now, we play the waiting game. Fingers crossed!
