Stranger Things has swept the nation again, including myself, with its fantastic cast of outrageously charming kids and unbelievable story telling. Of course, the star of the show that has started to blossom into a superstar is Millie Bobby Brown who plays the character Eleven (011). Eleven has reached through the screen and through my chest to steal my heart. The little girl with a shaved head just trying to figure out how to make it in their crazy world pulls on my heart strings. So this Saturday night when Rose Namajunas, the 5’5″ 115-pound woman with a shaved head, took the cage against champ Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 217 it set the twitter world on fire about Rose looking like Eleven.

Certain circumstances had my brothers and I finding ourselves in a bar huddled around my laptop watching the UFC fights on Saturday night. While we were watching, a friend walked over while the fight was starting and asked: “Is Eleven going to win?”. Rose Namajunas is a beautiful UFC fighter who was known as such when she started her career. When she was pitted against the other “pretty girl” in the UFC Paige Van Zant, Rose was refusing to be part of the “pretty girl fight” and shaved her head. Eleven has hit the scene with the same look, and now Rose is the champion of the world.
Eleven came and helped Mike, Dustin, and Lucas save their boy Will from the upside down. She used her powers to defeat the bad men and conquer evil. Rose’s path to the belt is pretty similar. Joanna Champion was the “bad men” controlling the stawweight division with fear. All the fighters that stepped into the octagon with Joanna might as well have been walking into Hawkins Lab and Joanna is Papa. No one has been able to step up to her and defeat her…until now. Rose came in within fear, and much like Eleven, used her powers to conquer evil.
The difference is Eleven had telepathic powers, and Rose has more of a natural power. Rose used that natural power to knock Joanna out in the first round, shocking the world! Rose is on the brink of being a mega star in the world, as she spreads the words of peace and unity with the belt around her arm. She set the internet on fire with her knock-out win and Eleven like appearance, but this is only the beginning of the fame that is coming Rose’s way. Much like Millie Bobby Brown, Rose Namajunas’ fame is only scratching the surface.
