Credibility is everything in the world of sports journalism. That is the reason why most respected journalists wait until they actually confirm their source to report it. Websites like SB Nation and Bleacher Report quickly picked up a random thing Brian Scalabrine saw over the weekend, and the whole world ran with it. Is there a trade? No, Scalabrine got his false Klay Thompson trade rumor from a website which predicted WWIII. You can’t make this stuff up.

So either the world is coming to an end, or Klay Thompson is staying put in Golden State. After Klay’s performance last night, he’d be crazy to leave Golden State anytime soon if you ask me.
"I heard this weekend that Klay Thompson may be available, I heard that rumor going around involved w/ a team that wears green" @Scalabrine

It’s one of those funny things where you can’t say anything anymore. People blow it up. Sorry Celtics fans, no Klay Thompson for you.
Per Sources, what sources? These sources.
