Cassius Clay, a.k.a CashNasty, is one of the biggest YouTubers in the NBA 2K/basketball community. With over five million subscribers between two channels, the social media influencer has provided the platform with entertainment such as NBA 2K, reactions, cooking, and sneaker videos.

However, some of his most popular videos are his in-real-life basketball videos. Cash was a leader in popularizing this type of content in the community years back. 1v1s, more specifically, are a staple in his career. The veteran has tallied a 33-8 record (.805 win percentage) in these contests. This isn’t bad for a guy who’s just now starting to take basketball seriously.

Despite the current pandemic, Cash shows that he’s still able to upload 1v1 matchups for his fans. With more videos coming soon, it’s interesting to think about who he should play next.

That’s why I’m here to list a few potential games against other content creators. Here are three CashNasty basketball 1v1s that we need in our sub boxes.

Jesser

Jesser is a fellow member in Cash’s influencer group, ‘2Hype’. Like Cash, he’s also at the forefront in the IRL basketball scene.

Surprisingly, the two friends have only clashed twice over four years, splitting the series a game apiece. The last showdown was uploaded in February 2018, so Jesser most definitely could’ve got better. However, it’s obvious to one’s eye that Cash has made significant strides in his game.

I explained it in a past article, but to keep it short, Mr. Clay’s long-range jumper has improved. His top of the key shot, as he’d say, is “wet like watta.” He no longer has to rely on bully-ball as the only consistent way of getting a bucket. Also, Cash’s ball-handling has increased overall. He even broke Jesser himself in a recent 2Hype ‘King of the Court’ video.

The first matchup went down in 2016, followed by one in 2018. If Cash v Jesser follows an every two-year trend, the tiebreaker should go down soon. The two always make enjoyable content with each other, so game three would be no letdown.

TJass

Subscribers to Cash’s second channel know that he loves to react to basketball entertainer TJass. He even admitted it himself. It feels like every week he pumps out a TJass related video.

Despite all of the reactions, Cash has yet to go head-to-head solo with Tristian. His peers, TTG and FlightReacts, have squared off against the layup master, but not Cash. The two have played multiple 2v2s against each other and even a challenge event, however, no 1v1 has ever been scheduled.

Fortunately, there’s hope. Cash, in a July 13 video, called out TJass to know when he’s coming to California to play him 1v1. He wants to learn a move or two as well. Tristian has yet to respond. I pray he does because this game would be highly entertaining and rewatchable. It would produce flashy plays that embarrass Cash.

D’Vontay Friga

D’Vontay Friga is a former DIII hooper who’s gained a lot of attention in the community this year. Like TJass, Friga uploads 1v1s and park runs.

In late June, D’Vontay played Flight. Around that same time, he hit up Cash to play him as well. However, it didn’t go down. Due to the current pandemic, Cash is taking precautions to play these games. Unfortunately, Friga traveled from Florida, which is experiencing a spike in Covid-19 cases. So, Cash felt that there was a possibility that he could catch something from Friga. Thankfully, he said that he’ll play D-Friga, but in different circumstances. Since Cash’s statement, there’s been internet trash talk but no date for a 1v1.

Cash has said in a recent video that he has planned videos against “hooper-hoopers” and “hoopist” to happen soon. If you don’t watch Cash, you probably don’t know what these terms mean. Luckily, I found a chart on Twitter than explains the terms.

Considering that Friga is known to be a ‘hooper-hooper,’ my fingers are crossed that Cash was referring to a match with him.

This contest is needed. Although Cash has no chance of winning, it’d be a humbling experience for him. He can take notes from a former college athlete, which can help him get to that next level. This would lead to better basketball content. For Friga, this game would put him on to more opportunities for channel growth.

Final Thoughts

CashNasty has taken a big step in his game. Those three matchups would put his new moves up to the test. Ultimately, they’d create good content for both parties’ fans to see.

Agree with these matchups? Who else do you want to see featured in CashNasty basketball 1v1s? Let me know on Twitter or Instagram.
