Gordon Hayward has been no stranger to The Players’ Tribune. He notified Utah Jazz fans that he was leaving them via that platform. This time, Hayward has chosen to address Celtics fans via The Players Tribune. Gordon Hayward gives a scouting report on himself,

“I’ll give you the scouting report on Gordon Hayward this season: He’s ready. That’s it — that’s the whole report.”

Hayward also briefly discussed the Celtics shortcomings.

Hayward has yet to deliver on his max contract with the Boston Celtics. Year one was derailed by the ankle injury. That injury would also impact his second year with the Celtics. Last season was tough on Celtics fans and Hayward alike. He made this clear by saying, “but I’ll just leave it like this: No one signs with the Celtics to get bounced in Round 2, you know what I mean?”

Hayward would go on to praise his current teammates.

Hayward’s praise was basically a high level overview of his teammates. He highlighted Walker’s ability to finish at the rim and Tatum being a natural scorer.

To be as versatile and as lethal of a scorer as he is at his age….. trust me when I tell you that’s extremely rare. It’s a small list. JT is ready to make a really big leap this year — on both ends of the court.

Hayward would go on to praise Marcus Smart and even said, Enes Kanter “maybe the best offensive rebounder in the WORLD”.

Gordon Hayward giving a scouting report on himself shows that he knows that he needs to deliver this year.

Gordon Hayward recently ranked 5th on my top 10 small forwards for the 2019-2020 NBA season. Aside from being a fan of his game, I believe that Hayward is finally due for a bounce back year.

If the Celtics are going to deliver, Hayward needs to be the player he is capable of being.
