The Timberwolves Are A Playoff Team- TPR’s Daily Overreaction

Andrew Wiggins is finally living up to his potential as the next Kobe. The Timberwolves were justified in firing Tom Thibodeau. The 3-0 Minnesota Timberwolves are now a playoff team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (3-0)

If the NBA ended today, the Minnesota Timberwolves would be a playoff team. Unfortunately for Timberwolves fans, the NBA does not end today. However, there are a few signs of optimism for the Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns has taken the next step in his development. He is looking like a strong early MVP candidate. Up until last night, his ‘co-star’ Andrew Wiggins had little to no impact on winning.

Wiggins made up for that by helping his team late against the Miami Heat by scoring 11 straight points.

There are a few things I like about the Timberwolves. I like the addition of Covington, Napier, and Okogie. I love Karl-Anthony Towns. However, I am still far from sold on Andrew Wiggins and/or the Timberwolves’ playoff chances. If they want to have a shot at making the playoffs, they’re going to need consistent monster nights from Towns, and all-star caliber nights from Wiggins. I’m not sure they have enough depth to compensate for the nights that either of them don’t show up.

The Phoenix Suns (2-1)

NBA fans are early debating whether or not it’s time to respect the Phoenix Suns. It’s early, but Monty Williams has made the Phoenix Suns’ offense look more balanced, as opposed to the Devin Booker isolation show that had been going on for years prior. As long as Booker hasn’t been doubled teamed, the Phoenix Suns have been able to get their way with the opposition.

Even though I appreciate Monty Williams getting more out of their roster than any coach has in the past, I am also still far from sold on the Phoenix Suns being a playoff team.

Especially if they keep getting drug tested after every win.

Other news around the association:

The Warriors struggle when they only have three all-stars. Chris Paul can still play basketball. The Brooklyn Nets no longer play any defense. Ja Morant is actually in the NBA. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are the greatest European duos from all time. The Miami Heat need broccoli. The Lakers upset the Charlotte Hornets. Nicolas Batum continues to rob the Charlotte Hornets.
