“What Does TPR Stand For?”

The Great TPR
The Great TPR reflecting

I have finally decided to answer the question I get asked the most on Per Sources, “what does TPR stand for?”. As an added bonus, I’ll even include the origin of each of my nicknames. If you haven’t read the story of, “Who Is The Great TPR?”, you can read it here.

My name is Tony Phillip Rouhana, which is what ‘TPR’ stands for. I am an entrepreneur, consultant, social media marketing expert and most importantly,  I am the founder of Per Sources. I’ve kept my real name away from Instagram for safety and privacy reasons. So if you’re reading thing, I do kindly ask that you respect my privacy and professional life.

The nickname ‘TPR’ started back when John Wall was doing his dance at Kentucky. I was entering a phase of my life where I started lifting weights consistently for the first time. My boss at the time would do the John Wall ‘flex dance’ three times while announcing my initials every time he saw me. It was catchy, so I ran with it.

‘The Great TPR’, for the most part, has been the online persona behind Per Sources. ‘The Great TPR’ has emerged as the public facing mascot of our great online company. However, the story of my alter ego started way before then.

Throughout my whole life, I always portrayed a lot of confidence. I’ll admit, there was a time in my teenage years I did need to fake it though. The more obstacles I overcame growing up, the more confident I got. By the time I was a freshman at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, I was one of the most confident people you’d ever met. The only problem was, I was also really flamboyant (still am obviously). Talking trash and backing it up was my favorite thing to do on the basketball court. As any group of guys know, you can only tolerate that guy, me, for so long. So one time my best friend and I were talking trash back and fourth, it would get heated sometimes. In a very sarcastic and condescending way, he kept referring to me as ‘The Great TPR’. In a fashion very similar to the main character of a popular anime “My Hero Academia”, I took that nickname and made it my own.

Looking back at my life, I’ve always taken what everybody else hated and made it my own. I’m sure by now, you can see why I can relate with Kanye West.

What’s your nickname?
