Is There Anyone In Serie A That Could Potentially Dethrone Juventus?

Juve

Is there anyone in Serie A that could potentially dethrone Juventus? The last time someone other than Juve lifted the trophy in Italy was at the end of the 2010-2011 season and that was AC Milan. Juventus were not even found in the top 3 at all that year. Milan consisted of greats like Zlatan, Pirlo, Pato, Seedorf, Robhino and Thiago Silva so it is clear to many that it was a well-deserved championship. Since then, Juventus has begun its incredible reign in Italy like we have never seen before. It seems as though it would take a stacked team like the 2010 AC Milan squad to defeat this talented fusion of Ronaldo, Dybala, Bonucci, Chiellini, Pjanic, Mandzukic, Cuadrado and MORE. Does any team in the league have anything near what it takes to pull this off?

Roma:

Roma sits 10 points behind Juve 7 games into the season. Having three wins, two ties and two losses, it will take some hard grinding to not sink any lower than they are from the top spot. You know Juventus will keep winning, so that only means Roma needs to win more and do well against teams ahead of them if they wish to climb the table. Only two players have scored multiple goals and it is exactly who you think it’d be: El Shaarawy and Edin Dzeko. These two will need to do more than that if they wish to leave the losses behind them and earn some W’s. Some help from midfielders Javier Pastore and Daniele De Rossi would do wonders for a team struggling to stay afloat.

AC Milan:

AC Milan find themselves even further down in the standings than Roma sitting with 9 points. With 6 games under their belt in the 2018-2019 Serie A season, they have put up only two wins. Accompanying these wins are three ties and one loss. Similar to Roma, only two players have multiple goals: Bonaventura and Higuain. With the popular and promising 19 year old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, fans hope that the rest of the team will step up to help see this team into the top 5 where it has been so familiar with its rich history in Italy.

Juve

Inter and Fiorentina:

Seven games into the new season and Inter and Fiorentina find themselves tied with 13 points apiece. Inter has a solid defense with Vrsaljko and de Vrij. Midfielder Radja Nainggolan is a tank who will start to find the net as well as the Croatian Ivan Perisic and forward Icardi. We can expect to see Inter in the top 3 if they continue to produce and win games like they have shows through the first seven games. Led by Marco Benassi’s three goals, Fiorentina find themselves sitting just outside the top five in Serie A. Upsetting opponents ahead of them in the standings once or twice will find this club neck and neck with competing in the top 3.

Juve

Napoli:

Just two wins behind Juventus, Napoli are right where they want to be. Avoiding any draws has helped the team stay close to the giants at the top of the table.  Insigne and Milik with 3 and 5 goals, respectively, lead the way as the team attempts to deny Juventus of an 8th consecutive Scudetto. Following close behind are Sassuolo led by the 3 goals from Boateng. Teams cannot get too comfy sitting in the top 3 as every single team beneath them thirsts for the spot they are in. It is early on and nobody can be ruled out.
